The Vision BMW Alpina will debut on May 15, European time, at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, which takes place on the shores of Lake Como in Italy.
Judging from the shadowy teaser image released by the brand, the car will be a two-door coupe, possibly based on the 8 Series, which went out production last month.
Earlier social media posts from BMW Alpina revealed the car’s paint and wheel caps, as well as some of its leather work. The vehicle will also have exhaust tips, meaning it will definitely be powered by an internal combustion engine.

The ‘Vision’ tag is typically affixed to BMW’s concept cars, indicating the car on display at Lake Como doesn’t have final approval for sale.
That said, the last two concepts revealed by BMW at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este have gone into limited production. The open-air Skytop made its debut at the 2024 show, and after a positive response from the media, internet commentators and, most importantly, prospective buyers, BMW greenlit a production run of 50 cars.
Based on the M8 Competition Cabriolet, the Skytop featured a completely unique body, and a retrimmed cabin. In 2025 BMW whipped the covers off the Speedtop, an M8-based shooting brake, that had a limited run of 70 units.
Given Alpina’s exclusive nature, the brand could become BMW’s home for collectible vehicles with unique bodies.
BMW bought tuning house Alpina in 2022, but as part of the purchase the brand was allowed to run independently until the end of 2025. Since it has come under BMW’s full control, the automaker has revealed updated branding and a new name: BMW Alpina.
As before it will modify existing BMW models for improved performance, but unlike M, BMW Alpina will continue its focus on subtle styling changes and a more luxurious feel with a softer ride.
