The Mahindra XUV700 has reclaimed its title of Australia’s cheapest new seven-seat model, thanks to a new pricing offer for the Indian-made mid-size SUV.
Mahindra has wiped $5000 off the price of the XUV700 AX7L, which is now priced at $37,990 drive-away in all states and territories, except Western Australia.
That makes the mid-range XUV700 AX7L $2000 cheaper than even the entry-level AX7 ($39,990 drive-away) and, more importantly, $1000 more affordable than the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max Urban ($38,990 drive-away), which undercut the Mahindra when it arrived here in mid-2024.

Seven-seat versions of both the Nissan X-Trail and Mitsubishi Outlander start from $41,305 and $42,540 before on-road costs, respectively.
Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine making 149kW of power and 380Nm of torque – driving the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission – the Mahindra uses a claimed 8.3L/100km of fuel.
Standard equipment includes leatherette seat upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter, panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, 360-degree cameras, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker stereo, wireless phone charger, power driver’s seat with memory, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, keyless entry and start, auto headlights and high-beam, auto wipers, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The XUV700 AX7L also comes with adaptive cruise control with stop and go, Smart Pilot Assist, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, rear parking sensors, post-collision braking, blind-spot view monitor, and seven airbags.
Mahindra offers a seven-year, 150,000km warranty with seven years of roadside assistance.
