The Geely EX2 electric hatchback will be priced from $26,490 before on-road costs when it goes on sale in Australia later this month, with a two-model range offering up to 345km of driving range.
The five-door, five-seat EX2 was the best-selling electric vehicle in China in 2025, with almost 466,000 units sold, and will launch in Australia at a lower price than key showroom rivals.
This includes the similarly sized BYD Dolphin electric hatch, offered from $29,990 before on-road costs, and the MG 4 EV Urban and GAC Aion UT, both priced from $31,990 before on-road costs.
Geely, which owns Volvo, Zeekr, Lotus and Polestar brands – as well as being a 50:50 owner of Smart in partnership with Mercedes-Benz – launched its namesake brand in Australia in March 2025.

One of six new Geely-branded models planned for Australia by 2028, the EX2 will join the Starray EM-i and EX5 mid-size SUVs already on sale here, with all three using the same Global Intelligent Electric Architecture (GEA) underpinnings.
The EX2 measures 4135mm long, 1805mm wide and 1580mm tall, and sits on a 2645mm wheelbase, with a 70L front trunk (‘frunk’), a 375L boot and a tight 9.9m turning circle.
The $26,490 before on-road costs entry-level EX2 Complete comes with a 60kW/150Nm electric motor driving the rear wheels – a key point of difference to its competitors – with a 35.3kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery for a claimed WLTP driving range of 252km on a single charge.
Buyers who order and take delivery of an EX2 between July 12 and August 31 will also receive a 7kW home EV charger and won’t pay an additional $600 for premium paint choices.

Standard equipment includes 16-inch steel wheels with covers and Yokohama tyres, LED headlights, a 14.6-inch touchscreen with built-in satellite navigation, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, power-adjustable front seats, and a four-speaker sound system.
Connected services will be available from August, allowing you to use the Geely smartphone app to remotely control the locks, climate settings and scheduled charging, among other features.
There are four selectable drive modes, as well as seven airbags among a broad suite of standard safety equipment.
This includes advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and traffic sign recognition.
The EX2 also features multi-link rear suspension, while the entry-level Dolphin and MG 4 EV Urban use a torsion-beam rear suspension setup. The latter saves space, while the former typically delivers better ride comfort and handling.
The higher-spec EX2 Inspire will be priced at $30,990 before on-road costs and comes with a more powerful 85kW/150Nm electric motor and a larger 47.1kWh LFP battery for a claimed WLTP driving range of 345km.
It also offers faster 80kW DC charging compared to the entry-level model’s 60kW capability.
The Inspire also comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, metallic exterior accents and a contrasting black roof.

The cabin also includes heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a six-speaker sound system, a wireless phone charger, and a surround-view camera with a transparent chassis view.
Moon White is the only standard exterior colour on the EX2, with Star Silver, Comet Grey, Nebula Beige, Aurora Green and Nova Pink all optional at extra cost. All EX2s have Horizon Grey leatherette upholstery as standard, with the Inspire uniquely offering a Skyline White interior as a no-cost option.
According to Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) data, the EX2 should compete in the Small under $45,000 segment, which accounted for just under 5000 sales and 3.5 per cent of the Australian new-vehicle market in June.
The Toyota Corolla hybrid was the segment’s best-seller with 1037 sales, ahead of the MG 4 with 1015 and the petrol- and hybrid-powered Hyundai i30 with 744.
With only two models on sale, Geely has sold 10,970 vehicles in Australia in the first six months of 2026, led by the EX5 with 6765 sales.
