The Leapmotor B10 electric SUV has been spied on Australian roads ahead of its arrival in local showrooms later this year, where it’ll take on the likes of the BYD Atto 3, Chery E5 and Hyundai Kona Electric.
A camouflaged B10 in right-hand drive was spied parked in Sydney wearing Victorian number plates, suggesting it was road-registered by the local office of Stellantis, which is in Melbourne.
Stellantis and Leapmotor established a joint venture in 2024 called Leapmotor International, which sees vehicles from the Chinese brand exported to markets like Australia and Europe.
Slightly smaller than the C10 SUV – which launched Leapmotor here in 2024 – but longer than a BYD Atto 3, the B10 has been officially confirmed for local showrooms with first arrivals expected in October 2025.
The five-seat crossover SUV will launch with electric power, with an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version expected to follow. Timing and details have yet to be announced for the latter, which may wear the B10 REEV Ultra Hybrid nameplate.

Both are expected to use the updated Leap 3.5 800V architecture, which has been introduced on the larger C10 overseas but hasn’t yet arrived on an updated C10 here, which is still on Leap 3.0 400V platform tech.
The B10 is expected to cost less than the C10, with the EV version details already public after it went on sale in China in March 2025.
Two single-motor electric powertrains were announced: an entry-level 132kW single-motor version, and a 160kW option which is the standard powertrain in the UK.
The UK-spec B10 comes with a 67.1kWh battery and the 160kW/240Nm single electric rear-axle motor – very similar to the C10’s – with a 418km (WLTP) claimed range.
Few details of the REEV have been announced, but it will likely share components with the C10 REEV.
The C10 REEV uses a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine acting as a generator to charge a 69.9kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, with a 158kW/320Nm electric motor powering the rear wheels.
It offers 145km of electric driving range and in Australia is priced $2000 less than the same C10 model grade with an electric powertrain, with a $45,888 starting price (before on-road costs).
The vehicle spied in Sydney appears well run-in with aftermarket phone holders, hairbrushes and other ‘lived in’ items on board, with the 14.6-inch centre touchscreen run by a Qualcomm 8155 chip with integrated artificial intelligence (AI) clearly visible.
In addition to the C10 and B10, Leapmotor also sells the T03 in Europe. This electric city car has become its best seller, helping it post its first half-yearly profit in the first six months of 2025.
It has also launched the C11 SUV – a size up from the C10 – and the B01 sedan in China this year, and is set to pull the covers off the Volkswagen Golf-sized B05 hatch at the IAA Mobility show in Munich, Germany, next month.
The B10 will be only the second model in Australia after the C10, but at its 2023 launch, Leapmotor Australia CEO Andy Hoang told CarExpert: “We plan to cover 65 per cent of the Australian segments in the next three years.”
