GWM offering savings on PHEVs

GWM is raising awareness of its growing lineup of plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) with a test-drive campaign, with incentives offered to customers who sign on the dotted line.

Customers who sign a purchase contract for one of GWM’s PHEVs – apart from the new Tank 300 Hi4-T – from February 21 to March 7, 2026 will receive three complimentary scheduled services.

GWM says this represents up to $1060 in savings on the Haval H6 GT PHEV, $1085 on the Haval H6 PHEV, $1455 on the Tank 500 PHEV, and $1595 on the Cannon Alpha PHEV.

“By trialling a new energy vehicle, customers can discover an unparalleled driving and ownership experience, underscoring GWM’s dedication to making advanced hybrid technology more accessible,” the company said in a release.

The company offers two different PHEV systems – Hi4 and Hi4-T – both of which incorporate dual electric motors.

However, the latter system – found in the Tank 300, Tank 500 and Cannon Alpha – is mated with a mechanical four-wheel drive system with low-range gearing and locking differentials.

In addition to this test drive campaign, GWM is currently offering discounted pricing across the bulk of its PHEV range until February 28, 2026. Pricing is as follows:

Model Drive-away price Saving
GWM Haval H6 Lux PHEV $40,990 $4000
GWM Haval H6 Ultra PHEV $43,990 $4000
GWM Haval H6 Ultra PHEV AWD $46,990 $4000
GWM Haval H6 GT Ultra PHEV AWD $51,990 $2000
GWM Cannon Alpha Lux PHEV $51,490 $6000
GWM Cannon Alpha Ultra PHEV $58,490 $6000
GWM Tank 500 Ultra PHEV 4WD $77,990 $2000

GWM has rapidly grown its PHEV range, with all members launching in 2025 apart from the Tank 300 PHEV, due here from March 2026.

Despite being new in the Australian PHEV market, GWM was the third largest brand for PHEV sales in 2025 with 4162 reaching customers. That put it behind only PHEV stalwart Mitsubishi (5407 deliveries) and market leader BYD (27,128).

GWM was also the third-best selling hybrid brand in 2025. It offers hybrid versions of the Haval Jolion, Haval H6, Tank 300 and Tank 500, though last year it discontinued the hybrid version of its Cannon Alpha in favour of a PHEV.
