The Denza Z9 GT, China’s answer to the Porsche Taycan, has received a power bump in electric guise and more range as a plug-in hybrid.
While the Z9 GT hasn’t officially been confirmed for Australia, a shadowy image of it appears on the Coming Soon section of the Denza Australia website alongside the D9 people mover.
In China, the shapely shooting brake is offered with both plug-in hybrid and electric powertrains, and CarNewsChina reports both have been upgraded.
The tri-motor electric version now produces 850kW of power – up 140kW on the pre-update model. It features one 230kW electric motor at the front and two 310kW units at the rear.

There’s also a rear-wheel drive version with 370kW of power.
Battery specifications haven’t been detailed yet, but the outgoing model has a 100.1kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) unit.
The plug-in hybrid version still features a 152kW turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and a 200kW electric motor up front, plus dual 220kW electric motors at the rear for a total system output of 640kW.
However, this powertrain now features a larger 63.8kWh battery pack, up from 38.5kWh and boosting electric range under the more lenient CLTC cycle from 201km to 400km.
Denza has also released official imagery of the updated Z9 GT’s exterior in its newly available Fjord Green finish.
The LiDAR unit has also been relocated, while there’s a new blue indicator light to signal the semi-autonomous driving system is in operation.
The Z9 GT measures 5195mm long, 1990mm wide and 1490mm tall on a 3125mm wheelbase.
That makes it 221mm longer than the Taycan Cross Turismo – all in the wheelbase – as well as 23mm wider and 78mm lower.
While full specifications for the updated Z9 GT have yet to be announced, the pre-update model was offered with high-end gear like air suspension, Nappa leather upholstery, a 26-speaker sound system, and even a pair of onboard fridges, depending on the variant.
Should the Z9 GT be confirmed for Australia, it’s unclear how it’ll be priced.
Denza’s most expensive model is the large plug-in hybrid B8 off-road SUV, which tops out at $97,990 before on-road costs.
Like Denza’s other model in Australia, the smaller B5, the B8 is borrowed from BYD’s Fangchengbao brand. The Z9 GT, in contrast, is a pure Denza.
