M Performance upgrades for the BMW M2 and recently launched BMW M2 CS have been announced in Germany, where they will become available from July 2026.
While there’s an M Performance exhaust available for the M2 CS, the M Performance Track Kit for the standard M2 coupe brings upgrades designed for owners looking to take their car to track days, and BMW says they’re all about experiencing the thrill of driving.
“Track days promote a sense of community by bringing like-minded people together to share their passion for motorsport and BMW M automobiles,” said a BMW Germany press release.

The Track Kit lowers the M2 coupe by 20mm and a manually adjustable lower front splitter is among its aerodynamic upgrades, which were wind-tunnel tested by M Performance driver and engineer Jörg Weidinger.
The splitter is designed to work with new wheel-arch diffusers and an air scoop beneath the turbocharged inline six-cylinder’s oil-cooler, a combination that’s said to deliver greater downforce and therefore faster cornering.
The package also brings the BMW M4 GT4 ‘swan neck’ rear wing, which BMW says is also used on the Bathurst 12 Hour-winning M4 GT3 racer.
The M2 Track Pack’s ‘Race Mode’ sees the rear wing move 50mm further back, while in ‘Street Mode’ it reverts back within the M2’s original dimensions to, according to BMW, remain road-legal (in Germany, at least).
Other features include four-way adjustable dampers, adjustable support bearings and what BMW claims is the first road-legal mass damper system fitted to a production model.
It’s a serious set of upgrades, but it comes at a serious cost of €25,500 ($A39,039) plus taxes in Germany.
If it’s sold here at the same price, it would push the pricet of the M2 up from $128,900 to $167,939 before on-roads – close to the M2 CS’s price of $172,900 plus ORCs.
For the CS, which already sits 8mm lower than the regular M2, the M Performance exhaust fine-tunes the timbre of the twin-turbo S58 inline six, according to BMW.
Priced at €8343 ($A13,861) in Germany, the system brings no official increase to the CS’s 390kW/650Nm outputs – up from the standard M2’s 353kW/600Nm – but replaces the CS’s four black exhaust outlets with carbon and titanium versions.
It’s also claimed to shave 8kg from the M2 CS’s kerb weight of 1700kg.
The first all-wheel drive version of the M2 (both generations of BMW’s entry-level M-car, including the original F87 of 2016 and the latest G87 launched in 2023, have been exclusively rear-wheel drive) is also apparently on the horizon, after the M2 xDrive model name was briefly published on the BMW USA website last week, before being removed.
