The Haval H10 is yet another large SUV that could make its way to GWM Australia showrooms.
Previewed in April ahead of the Beijing motor show – though not displayed on the floor – the H10 is a new flagship for the Haval brand (sub-brand in Australia), with plug-in hybrid power and an available third row of seating.

“We are excited to see the continued evolution of the GWM Haval range with the release of H10,” said a GWM Australia spokesperson in a statement.
“As part of GWM’s expanding global SUV portfolio, it represents the brand’s ongoing commitment to innovation, technology and meeting the diverse needs of customers.
“We recognise the strong potential the H10 could have in the Australian market and continue to evaluate opportunities for its future introduction.”
The H10 will be offered in China with two different lengths, much like the smaller H7 that’s bound for Australia.
The five-seat version measures 5138mm long, 2050mm wide and 1970mm tall on a 3000mm wheelbase, while the six-seat version is longer at 5299mm though it retains the same wheelbase length.
It slots in above the body-on-frame H5, a more basic SUV related to the King Kong Cannon ute which measures 5190mm long; and the body-on-frame H9, which measures 5070mm long. Unlike these models, it features more car-like unibody construction.
But while GWM markets its Haval, Tank, Ora, Wey and GWM pickup brands separately in China, they’re all sold under the one GWM banner here and through the same showrooms – which in turn presents some challenges.
Should the H10 come here, it could steal buyers from the more rugged, body-on-frame Tank 500, which is also available with plug-in hybrid (PHEV) power, and potentially even overlap with upcoming, more premium SUVs from the Wey sub-brand.
Unlike the Tank 500, the H10 can be had with both PHEV power and a third row of seating. The H10 features a 42.8kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which can be charged using AC power at up to 6.6kW or using DC power, and gives the large SUV between 176km and 180km of range on the WLTC cycle.
WLTC fuel consumption is up to 6.7L/100km with a depleted battery, and a 65L fuel tank is standard.
A 123kW/243Nm turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine is mated with 100kW/170Nm front and 220kW/312Nm rear electric motors and a four-speed hybrid transmission, with the H10 offering total system outputs of 440kW and 722Nm.
The claimed 0-100km/h time is 4.9 seconds.
While GWM offers its most rugged SUVs under the Tank brand (sub-brand in Australia), it says it has imbued the H10 with off-road ability.
There’s an available electronically locking rear differential and an off-road crawl mode, while GWM claims an approach angle of 24°, a departure angle of 25-30° depending on the variant, and a breakover angle of 20°. Ground clearance is 220mm, and there’s a full-size spare on the tailgate.
Nevertheless, the H10 features four-wheel independent suspension with double wishbones up front and a five-link configuration at the rear. Adaptive dampers are available, while 20-inch alloy wheels are standard.
The H10 weighs between 2510kg in base five-seat guise and 2570kg in flagship six-seat Ultra guise.
GWM says it drew inspiration from the Song Dynasty for the interior, which is available in Amber Brown, Jade White and Inkstone Ash colourways.
There’s a standard 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch 2.5K infotainment touchscreen and, in some variants, a 17.3-inch 3K display in the rear, plus a 29-inch head-up display.
Standard equipment on all H10s includes heated, ventilated, massaging and power-adjustable front seats, a heated and cooled centre console storage box, and a power tailgate.
Depending on variant, the panoramic roof is either openable or fixed, and the sound system has either 15 or 21 speakers.
All models come standard with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, which works with the three millimetre-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and 11 cameras to power the H10’s advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS).
This suite of technology includes front and rear cross-traffic assist, and a Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) feature that works in both city and highway driving.
The intelligent parking system features various functions, including the ability to memorise parking manoeuvres or allow you to move the vehicle from outside.
GWM has committed to launching nine new models in Australia before the end of 2026, though given orders have only just opened in China it appears unlikely the H10 would be among these.
The company hasn’t fully detailed which large SUVs it’ll launch here, though the premium Wey marque has recently revealed the large two-row V8X and three-row V9X crossover SUVs, while the rugged Tank 700 is set to gain an extended-length three-row variant and a new V8 engine and is under consideration for Australia.
Sitting atop the local lineup will be the Tank 800, a new flagship SUV that’s also set to offer V8 power.
