What this means for NZ car buyers
New Zealand has one of the most diverse car markets in the world, with buyers choosing from a fast-growing mix of petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric models. That variety can make the research process confusing, and that’s where CarExpert NZ will help.
CarExpert NZ will launch with locally produced reviews, pricing insights and high-quality video content tailored for Kiwi audiences. The joint venture will also explore deeper partnerships with local auto dealers and distributors to support a more seamless new-car buying journey.
Mr Fallah added: “New Zealand’s car market is at an exciting inflection point, especially with the rapid shift toward electrification. With Trade Me’s support, we can deliver the same data-driven and entertaining content that’s resonated so strongly in Australia.”
Trade Me CEO Anders Skoe said the partnership strengthens the company’s focus on new-car shoppers and is an important step in Trade Me’s strategy to strengthen their new-car offering.
“CarExpert has built a trusted brand and deeply engaged audience in Australia, and we’re excited to bring that same expertise and energy to New Zealand.”
As part of the JV, CarExpert content will be syndicated across Trade Me andStuff.co.nz, significantly expanding visibility for brands and helping more New Zealanders make confident car-buying decisions.
What’s next for CarExpert
The investment will further fund CarExpert’s ongoing development in AI-driven tools, video production, and editorial expansion as the company continues its international growth strategy into 2026 and beyond.
CarExpert is proud to be expanding its footprint, and we’re excited to help Kiwi drivers choose their next car with confidence.
