2026 Toyota bZ4X Touring: High-riding electric wagon priced for Australia

Toyota Australia has confirmed pricing for the new bZ4X Touring, a wagon-style electric crossover SUV, ahead of deliveries commencing in May.

Priced from $69,990 plus on-road costs, the 2026 Toyota bZ4X Touring will sit atop the updated bZ4X EV range in Australia, commanding a $2000 premium over the standard bZ4X AWD.

Like its twin under the skin, the Subaru Trailseeker (which starts from $67,990 +ORCs), the bZ4X Touring packs a more powerful dual-motor electric drivetrain than the bZ4X AWD, quoting system power of 280kW (up from 252kW).

It allows the Touring to accelerate to 100km/h from rest in just 4.4 seconds, shaving 0.7 seconds off the claim of its smaller stablemate.

Further to the added performance, the bZ4X Touring adds 140mm of length to the regular bZ4X, which also results in a larger boot – the Touring quotes 500L of volume, up from 452L.

The larger EV retains the bZ4X’s 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which in the Touring offers a claimed 488km of WLTP-certified driving range. That’s a little less than the bZ4X AWD’s 517km.

As with the bZ4X, the bZ4X Touring offers DC charging at up to 150kW, with 22kW AC charging also fitted as standard.

Preliminary specifications for Australia largely mirror the bZ4X AWD, with the exception of unique 20-inch black alloy wheels, front and rear skid plates, ladder-style roof rails, resin black wheel arches and bonnet trim inserts, as well as a rear window wiper.

Other confirmed features include dual-zone climate control, eight-way power front seats with heating and ventilation, a digital rear-view mirror, fixed panoramic roof, dual wireless smartphone chargers, a 1500W inverter, a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a nine-speaker JBL premium sound system.

Toyota Australia has confirmed six metallic and pearlescent exterior paint options including the “newly introduced” Daylight Bronze metallic hero colour. Premium paint costs $575.

The bZ4X Touring is available with black synthetic leather upholstery or a new Touring-exclusive Khaki colourway.

As with other bZ4X owners, the Toyota Go loyalty program offers private buyer members the choice of a free Chargefox public charger voucher – for 12 months or 625kWh of charging, whichever comes first – or a complimentary 7kW home charger (not including installation).

The bZ4X Touring is likewise covered by Toyota’s five-year, unlimited-kilometre new vehicle warranty, bolstered by a 10-year, unlimited-kilometre service-activated battery warranty as well as eight years and 160,000km of coverage against battery degradation.
