2026 Ineos Grenadier update brings revised steering, special Black Edition

The 2026 Ineos Grenadier 4×4 off-roader has been updated with an expanded lineup including a new Black Edition, as well as steering and cabin tweaks across the range.

All Grenadiers receive a new variable-ratio steering box that the automaker says delivers improved precision and responsiveness.

The update is also claimed to deliver a five per cent smaller turning circle, with revised lock-stops designed to improve slow-speed manoeuvrability both off-road and around town.

The new Grenadier Black Edition costs an additional $2000 over the Fieldmaster model grade on which it’s based, and starts at $122,000 before on-road costs in either wagon or dual-cab ute body styles; it’s not available in cab-chassis form.

The special edition is offered exclusively in Inky Black exterior paint with a unique Dark Exterior Pack, including a black front grille and black skid plates.

It also gains unique badging and gloss black 18-inch alloy wheels – an inch larger than the Fieldmaster’s – shod with BFGoodrich all-terrain tyres, while the interior receives dark headlining and carpeting to complete the look.

Orders are now open for the Black Edition. A statement from Ineos Automotive Australia and New Zealand on the Black Edition said, “while there is no limit to volume, it will have a limited production window”.

For 2026, the Grenadier’s climate control system has also received unspecified upgrades “to improve the predictability of heating and cooling within the cabin”.

Ineos has also expanded its range of accessories, including shorter roof racks for vehicles with Safari Windows.

The off-roader range is otherwise unchanged for 2026, with all models continuing to be offered with a choice of BMW-sourced 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder turbo-diesel or turbo-petrol engines, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

Prices remain unchanged, starting at $105,000 before on-road costs for the entry-level Quartermaster cab-chassis, $107,000 for the station wagon and Quartermaster ute, and $120,000 for the Fieldmaster and Trialmaster grades, following discounts of nearly $20,000 offered during 2025.

Ineos also dropped its agency sales model in Australia in October last year, which it had used since launching the brand – and the Grenadier – locally in May 2022.
